The Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-initiative (FEYReP), the Pet Project of Her Excellency Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel, wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, celebrated its second anniversary with an empowerment program, packaged to benefit over 500 select women from across the state.

Addressing the crowd at the event which held at the Judiciary Multipurpose Hall, Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo, wife of the governor and initiator of FEYReP, Mrs Emmanuel journey so far to include various empowerment schemes for women, medical and health interventions and outreaches, surgeries and sponsorship of medical treatments and surgeries of various cases across the state, educational outreaches, advocacy against rape and violence against women and sexual abuse of the under aged, girls uphold your dignity campaigns, and advocacy against teenage pregnancies. She also listed that FEYReP in two years has built processing factories for seafood, oil palm and cassava accross the state to help ease the stress of processing these products. She also intimated the crowd that FEYReP is currently involved in Cassava farming with over 10 acres of Cassava farm in Okobo L.G.A. with the sole intention of making garri (a staple food in the state) more available and affordable. She also added that FEYReP's "Shelter of Hope" project has seen several widows and widowers accross the ten federal constituencies become beneficiaries of fully furnished two bedroom flats while promising more to come with two more to be commissioned the next day in Nsit Ibom and Itu L.G.As.

The beneficiaries of the days empowerment package were handed tokens to boost their businesses.
