Wife of Akwa Ibom State governor and chairperson Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative (FEYReP), Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel says her social intervention vehicle in the last two years has intervened in many areas to restore human dignity in the state.

Mrs. Emmanuel who disclosed this recently during a media parley with journalists in her office, said economic empowerment, medical out-reaches, provision of shelter for the homeless, agricultural interventions and attitudinal reorientation for the youths have engaged the focus of her programmes.

The governor’s wife said over 2000 rural women have been empowered and given life-lines through FEYREP, while 20 houses have been built and delivered to the hitherto roofless people in the state.
" The successes are enormous and I must give glory to God for the grace to impart many lives and families within just two years." She said.

She added "we have empowered over 2000 thousand women in the state. We have also built over twenty houses for the indigent, we have conducted medical programmes for our people and multiple birth parents are not left out too."

The first lady noted that FEYReP which is founded on the core objectives of empowering families and restoring values in youths, in the last two years without doubt has complemented government efforts towards making Akwa Ibom family rise to greatness.

" I selflessly committed my self to bridge the gap through FEYREP by complementing the strides of my husband the Governor. This second anniversary therefore provides an opportunity for me to take stock of our achievements and restate our commitment to the constituencies we serve."

On the sources of funding for FEYREP, Mrs. Emmanuel posited that it is purely a nongovernmental ' not-for-profit' organisation which is funded solely by donations and goodwill, calling for well-meaning individuals to come and partner with her to do more in the coming years.

Mrs. Emmanuel added that as part of activities to mark the second anniversary of FEYREP, more life-touching projects will be inaugurated in the coming weeks.
