Back to School Initiative

In a commendable effort to invest in the education and future of Akwa Ibom’s vulnerable children, the Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path Initiative (FEYReP) spearheaded a “Back to School” initiative since its inception on September 21, 2015.

This program, held at the beginning of every school term, aimed to provide support to approximately 200 vulnerable children of the Divine Children Home by equipping them with essential stationery items for their educational journey

The “Back to School” initiative, is a testament to FEYReP’s commitment to empowering the younger generation and ensuring that economic barriers do not hinder access to education. Driven by a desire to uplift the less privileged, FEYReP recognizes the pivotal role education plays in breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering individual growth.

Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, the visionary founder of FEYReP, shares her insights on the necessity of this initiative for vulnerable children in Akwa Ibom State. She states, “Education is a powerful tool for social transformation, and every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow.

Our ‘Back to School’ initiative is a small yet impactful step toward ensuring that vulnerable children have the basic tools they need for their education. By providing stationery, we aim to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by these families and create a pathway for these children to embrace learning with enthusiasm.”

The initiative goes beyond the distribution of stationery; it is a holistic approach to empowering children, fostering a sense of dignity, and instilling confidence in their educational journey. By addressing the practical needs of students, FEYReP’s initiative not only supports their academic pursuits but also reinforces the idea that education is a pathway to a brighter future. FEYReP’s “Back to School” project has been facilitated by partnerships with MTN Foundation and individuals who share the same passion for promoting and supporting education for vulnerable children. This collaborative effort amplifies the impact of the initiative, reaching more children and creating a stronger foundation for their educational endeavors.
