For years running, the Back-to-School programme of Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-initiative, FEYReP; a non-governmental platform of the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Wife, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel has witnessed a massive investment in the educational pursuits of the over 200 hitherto abandoned children.
With over 80 of them currently in different boarding secondary schools across the state, 40 in higher institutions and 32 sitting for the 2021 WAEC examination, it means that additional 32 of them would be in the tertiary institutions come next year.
This massive investment in their future goes a long way in demonstrating the great faith and amount of love and confidence the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and wife, Martha, have in them as their adopted kids.
On Sunday 12th September, 2021, the sixth edition of the programme held at the Divine Children’s Home, Atan Offot, Uyo local government, and the Wife of Governor as usual was there to interact, give advice and perform the symbolic presentation to the children of the Home.
The Commissioners for Women Affairs, and Education, Dr. Ini Adiakpan , Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet respectively were also there to register their goodwill messages while the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai, Rt. Hon. Emem Ibanga, wife of the Chairman UCCDA, Mrs. Inemesit Uwah among other women were also in attendance.
