Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-initiative FEYReP, a non-government organisation and founded by the wife of Akwa Ibom State governor, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, has provided 4-month interest-free loans to women with small businesses across the state.
At the cash presentation ceremony held at the Corporate office of FEYReP, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, the founder of FEYReP charged the beneficiaries to invest the funds received wisely so as to refund within the stipulated period.
According to Dr. Martha Emmanuel, the loan, a revolving one is aimed at improving the living conditions of grassroots women, stating that she has always desired to leave the women of the state in better economic state than she met them upon resumption of office in 2015.
The beneficiaries, speaking to www.feyrep.org.ng expressed gratitude to Her Excellency Dr. Martha Emmanuel for the initiative as they also expressed optimism that the monies will go a long way in boosting their businesses, promising not to default on the repayments so as to keep the scheme afloat for others to also benefit.
