Free Surgical Care

In the last eight years, the Family Empowerment and Youth Orientation Path Initiative (FEYReP) has been a stalwart in providing free surgical care, leaving an indelible mark on the health landscape of Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. The most recent achievement was the successful collaboration with the World Surgical Foundation USA, where 108 patients underwent various surgeries, addressing conditions such as hernia, fibroids, lipomas, myomectomy, and goiter.

As a throwback to this accomplishment, in 2017, FEYReP partnered with ProHealth International and AKISAN USA to execute free medical and surgical care for the people of Akwa Ibom State, during which a remarkable 6,468 patients received vital medical treatments and surgeries. Dr. Iko Ibanga, the Executive Director of Pro-Health International, acknowledged the necessity of such partnerships in giving back to society and expressed gratitude to FEYReP and its founder for her special interest in the health of Akwa Ibom people and her consistent support for the less privileged.

Dr. Martha, the driving force behind FEYReP, reflecting on the organization’s eight-year journey, states, “Our dedication to helping the sick has been constant. FEYReP’s mission is about making a lasting impact on the lives of those in need, and we will continue to strive for a healthier, more empowered community.”

This quote reflects the enduring commitment of Dr. Martha and FEYReP to healthcare; it emphasizes the transformative role the organization plays in the lives of the poor and the less privileged in society. As the organization looks forward, its legacy of compassion and service stands as a guiding light of hope for the people of Akwa Ibom and beyond.
