FEYReP Empowers One Hundred Vocational Trainees, Gives Grants to Fifty Students.

Wednesday, 19th June, 2024 witnessed a gathering of one hundred and fifty (150) beneficiaries of various empowerment programs rolled out by the Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative FEYReP at an event held at the FEYReP Hall, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Recall that FEYReP had previously embarked on a training program between April 8, to April 12, 2024, where one hundred persons were trained in pastries (cake, pies, buns, puffs etc.), and cosmetics (soaps, perfumes, disinfectants, dishwashers,bleaches etc.), whose training was officially brought to an end with the empowerment with seed-funds to as capital to enable them set themselves up in the world of small and medium scale entrepreneurship.

The Trainees were joined at the event by another set of beneficiaries who were there to receive grants to aid them in their academic pursuits. These were undergraduates of Akwa Ibom State Origin, drawn from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria, under the FEYReP Undergraduate Education Support Scheme (FUESP).

The trainees were treated to a lecture on “The Importance of Skill Acquisition in Personal And Professional Development”, bye the keynote speaker Mr. Aniekeme Finbarr. In his lecture Mr. Finbarr spoke on the necessity of having a skill, and the need to know how best to market such skill/products of the skill. He urged the trainees to make maximum use of the tools available to them, study their environments and know how best to apply their acquired skills in servicing the needs of the environment as well as understand the need for steady consistency on service delivery.

The FEYReP Coordinator, while making her opening speech had welcomed all guests and beneficiaries to the event while reiterating the goals and objective of FEYReP as the driving force behind the organizations quest and drive to better lives to ensure successful families and and safer environment where various forms of crime is eradicated via getting everyone involved and busy on some vocation or skill based craft.

Also addressing the participants and guests, the founder of FEYReP, Her Excellency, Martha Emmanuel Ph.D., restated her resolve to further the cause of the organisation being borne out of her desire to help build successful families, promote the cause of the vulnerable, to fight the scourge of rape and violence against persons. She added words of advise to the beneficiaries of both training and empowerment in various vocations and the educational grants to make judicious use of the opportunities and grants extended to them.

There were goodwill messages and words of advise offered by invited guests, there present. These included but was not limited to House of Assembly members Hon. Sampson Idiong, Hon. Itoro Francis and Hon Precious Selong representing Oruk Anam, Uruan and Urue Offong Oruko State Constituencies respectively, the State Commissioner for Education Hon. Idongesit Etiebet and other persons.

The beneficiaries were all handed their empowerment packages and grant cheques whilst one of them offered a vote of thanks on behalf of all the beneficiaries.
