Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path-Initiative (FEYReP), held her tenth edition of the pregnancy care outreach for expectant mothers tagged: Martha’s Pregnacare Outreach at the Ibom Hall Uyo.
The event gathered over 350 pregnant women from rural areas of the state, and witnessed health talks from resource persons on issues such as: Nutrition in Pregnancy, Antenatal Care and Cesarean Section (Myths and Facts).
FEYReP Partners HarvestPlus and the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) were also present at the occasion.
The wife of the governor, Akwa Ibom State and Chairperson, FEYReP, Her Excellency, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel while speaking at the event said the outreach was borne out of her strong desire to minimize the rate of deaths of pregnant women during child-birth through sensitization and the provision of basic maternity kits for pregnant women.
